The striking feature of the season, | the report states, has been the .large'. - prices paid for butter at the beginning - ;. . of the season by sanguine speculator! -ki iu the colony, and the comparatively, ;*i| poor sale results of tho same butter in ;vte England, and the heavy losses made by, these speculators. The quautity of milk ' i received during the season has been // 98,448,1591b5, and the total butter has .'- been 4,029,1391bs This latter is an in- '| crease* of 838,0811bs over the preceding : . T season. Payments to milk supplying shareholders, including interest and profit bonus, calculated on a butter fat basis, are for winter butter fat including profits (uniform price at all cream- . eries), almost exactly 10% d per lb; for , spring,, summer and autumn on quantity supplied, to the larger creameries . \ lO'/id per lb. The average for the soft- ,- ; . son ovw all creameries was 9 9-10 d per i lb. The butter fat quality of milk're- _'.« ceived (average of all the creameries), " [ has been 3.749 per cent, the overrun v, has been 11.41 per cent. It has taken ** 23,9371bs of milk to each' lib of butter. . Tho skim milk, test (average over all ■ creameries) has keen .0,004 per cent.
