QUEENSLAND POLITICS.

Brisbane, Jnly 24. Three members were nominated for the Speakership of the-House. A good deal of personality was imparted into the discussion. Eventually all three ran dtdates were rejected. At the Premier's suggestion the matter wit Allowed to stand over for ;i few hoitn. Than Mr Leahy was again nominated. The Premier supported him, and he was elected by 45 to 20. The minority consisted of the Labor party. There are indications of a coalition betwetn the (lovernment and Opposition. The Government appears likely to throw orer the Labor party.
