LIFE CONVICT'S MARRIAGE.
WEDDED TO JUS GAOLER'S DAI'UHTKK. Brussels, May 28. A strange romance at Ypres eulini mi ted there to-day in the marriage of i convict, who is undergoing life impri Ronment in the local prison, to tin daughter of his gaoler. Hie gaoler's daughter was in the liabit of taking food to the convict, ami an attachment was formed which re suited in the convict asking the gaoler's permission to marry tier. The girl admitted her love for the prisoner, and the gaoler at last consented.
Tlio convict was taken to the town hull in a covered waggon, escorted by four gcnd'irmes who acted as witnesses. Alter the civil ceremony the bride and groom were driven iljack to the prison with the gendarmes, and the religious ceremony was performed in the prison chapel, after which the convict returned to his cell.
The residents of Ypres are circulating u petition, which will lie presented ti the iiutJioritics, asking that the convic be pardoned.
