MASSACRE IN PERSIA.

TWO HUNDRED PEOPLE KILLED BY CAVALRT. Paris, May 26. The Herald's Teheran correspondent reports that great excitement prevails in the capital owing to news received from Tabriz that a massacre has taken place there by order of the Shah. . It is stated that the cavalry of tlw Celebiau tribe suddenly attacked the assembly there, and that about 200 people were killed. Six members of the National Assembly were amongst the victims.

A large crowd gathered outside the National Assembly buildiing in Teheran when the news became known, and refused to allow the deputies to leave. It demanded the. execution of Rahim Khan, chief of- the Celebian tribe, before dawn. The Assembly sent a deputation to the Shah to discuss the situation with him. His Majesty informed the deputation that he was completely ignorant of the intentions of the tribe.

The report of this statement by the Shah caused great indignation, and the mob indulged in seditious language. The situation is critical, and troubles are expected.

Rumors are current that ball cartridges have been distributed to the Shah's bodyguard.
