CONFERENCE BETWEEN THE PARTIES. TROUBLE LIKELY" TO BE ENDED. Received lath, 1J) aju. Sydney, July 18. Through the intervention of Mr Hughes, the Secretary of the Seamen s Union, a conference between the repieaentatives of the Collier Owners' Association and the Coal Lumpers' Union TO held to-day. The employers made certain proposals, which will be submitted for consideration of the men. The president of the Trades Hall Council tonight made a statement that the whole trouble will be concluded in a day or tiro.
