ASKED TO ABDICATE. TEOUBLE OVEB THE HAGUE DEFU TATION. Received 18th, D.46 p.m. Seoul, July 18. The Premier of Korea has asked the Emperor to abdicate in favor of the Crown Prince, owing to his. action in sending a deputation to the Hague Convention. The Premier suggested that the Emperor should go to Tokio, and apologise to the Emperor of Japan. The Korean Emperor made no definite reply or suggestion, and it is unlikely that he will yield without a struggle. JAPANESE MINISTER SAILS FOR KOREA.
Received 18th, 9.40 p.m. Tokio, July 18. Viscount Hayashi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, has sailed for Korea. (A Korean deputation protested at the non-invitation of Korea to be represented at the Ilague Convention. Tin deputation failed to obtain Replying to Marquis Ito's Interrogation, the Emperor of Korea repudiated the deputation, declaring that the credentials were forgeries. But it was reported that the Emperor paid their expenses oat of his own pocket.)
