NORTH TRARANAKI HUNT CLUB.

The North Taraimki Hunt Club met at Sentry Hill on Thursday about noon, at the residence of Mr. MacTaggarl. There were about 40 or ul) members present at the Hunt Club breakfast given by -Mrs. MaeTaggart, and at about 1.31) p.m. members, after giving three hearty cheers for their host and hostess, moved oil in the direction of the "drag," which was laid in tlie properties adjoining the. Racecourse. An excellent course had been arranged, and about 30 members safely negotiated the various obstacles. A start was then made by the members to find a hare. After a few minutes had elapsed the hounds jmt up a fine bunny, and, after an excellent run of over a mile, a kill was ejl'ected.' The trophies of the sport were distributed amongst the several lady members who were "in at the death." Amongst those who were mounted were Misses M. Sole, Quigley, 1. Sole, Sal way, and Carter; Mesdames N. lliil, W. Hill, and Taunton; Messrs A. H. Ilalcombe (master), A. Cli!l' (deputy master), .!. Colson (hunt man), Beedie, I'ratt, Hughes, McGuinness, Alavon, Stanley (2), Thomson (2), N. Hill, u. Sole, P. Sole, F. Carthew. Sampson {■>), Jury, C. Matthews, W. J. Jenkins (Waitara), Street (4), Quigley, Jennius, Kiipalrick, Morgan, l-'itzroy, and others. Amongst those driving were Mr and Mrs H. Lepper, Mesdames Clitr, and K. P. Webster. A special word of praise is due to Mr. Colson for the very excellent way in which the pack worked, especially considering they are not 12 months old. They arc also very well grown hounds. The club have to thank Mr. MacTaggart, the president, for the excellent manner in which ho looked after the wants of the members, and one and all voted.the day the most enjoyable and successful yet hehl by the club. Thanks are also tendered to those settlers who have during the season given permission to hunt over their properties.
