ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Auckland, May 14. Captain Swanson was found dead in his bunk on the scow Wakinini, anchored off Bowestowu. There is no further information.
Carterton, May 14. Wallace Smith, aged about 70, fell from 11 horse at Papnwai Creek, nnd \yas drowned. Deceased was a son of Captain Smith, R.A., who camp out to the Xew Zealand Company, and was the first Surveyor-General of the colony, and connetted with early South Wajrarapa settlement.
