Probation wan refused, and sentence deferred till to-morrow, Christchui'ch, May 14. -U (ho Supreme Court to-day, Andrew Kdward Ward, convicted the previous day on an indictment for theft, \va* touiid guilty on a second indictment of obtaining .t'2o by false pretences. A sentence, was imposed of nine months' imprisonment on each charge, terms to »-• concurrent.
