ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Per Press Asooiation. Dunedin, April 20. James Myers was the name of the man found drowned in a ditch at Henley yesterday morning. He was seventy years of age, was nn old age pensioner, and apparently had no relatives in the colony. Deceased left Bertwick on Tuesday morning to take the train from Henley to Dunedin. He was on horseback, and when he reached Henley he left his horse near the railway station, himself proceeding to the White House Hotel. He had something to eat, and a glass of whisky. About seven o'clock when he left, he obtained a bottle of whisky from Mrs. Legg, saying that lie would pay her when he returned. He went for his horse, which was held by a little girl while lie mounted. She slates that lie was shaking us with cold, but was quite sober. This evidence of sobriety is corroborated by Mrs. McKcgg. The ditch in which he was found contained two feet of water. No trace of (he whisky bottle was found, nnd there was no nionev in deceased's pockets. ' '

Christchnreli, April 20. An incpiesl was hold to-day touching the death of Elizabeth Jordan, who died as the result of an accident tit the Belfast railway station yard on Wednesday last. A verdict of incidental death was returned.
