STRICT EXAMINATION OF VESSELS REQUIRED. Per Tress Association. Auckland, April 111. At the meeting of the Harbor Hoard this afternoon, Mr. J. K. Kuccn gave notice of the following motions with regard to the foundering of the Te Aroha and of the capsizing of the patiki Marion;—(l) That in view of the liiiriing of the recent nautical inquiry into the foundering of the Te Aroha, this Board is of opinion that a stridor examination is needed, and considers that a mop? rigid survey of sonic of the vessels plying within jurisdiction of this Hoard is'tiigontly required in the interests of safety. ' ('-) That the Minister for Marine he urged to introduce legislation empowering harbor boards to con lrol more ell'ectivcly than at present pleasure craft plying within the limits controlled by liie respective harbor boards.
