MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of (he Tai'iinnki Land Hoard was held yesterday. Present: Messrs. Ileslop, Conned, and Rattenbury. In the. absence of the Commissioner, Mr. ileslop was voted to the chair. APPLICATIONS FOR SUCTIONS. The laud applied for since last meeting was as under:—Sec. !), block 5, Kapara, 1203 acres, A. 10. Brown, 1.i.p.; Sec. 0, block (I, Aria, 870 acres, C. I''. Ileum, 1.i.p.; Sec. 02, block la, Omona, 785 acres, 1). and F. <!• Crantham, 0.r.p.; Sec. 3, block 1, Knpnra, 1350 acres, W. Uameson, cash; Sec. 3, block a, Wuro, 925 acres, 11. Knight, 0.r.p.; Sec. 3 and 10, block 4, Opaku, 1232 acres, C. Perkins, o.r.p. —Approved. The application of 11. I.\ Neilson, for Sec. 28, block 8, Ngairc, 185 acres, was approved.

All the a]iplicalions were agreed to excepting P. E. Dull's, who had not olfcctcd the required improvements. His interest in the section was forfeited. The transfer of sec. 5, block 15, Poualu, from C. Hodge to W, B. West was completed. GENERAL. .It was resolved to set apart Jive acres of' see. 5, block 7, Ulnira, as a school site. The Manganui Road Board applied to use the accrued thirds, amounting to ;C2l 12s 4d, to assist in paying oil' the Croydon Road loan.—Agreed to. ,1. 0. Eastwood's application for right of grazing portion of section 2, block 4, 1 Mtmi, was refused.

The Commissioner reported that D. 0. McDonald had paid .IMO 10s valuation for improvements on sec. 8, block !), Totoro, forfeited by C. Pillanis. liesolved that the amount of the valuation, less money due to the Crown foi expenses, be paid over to the outgoing tenant.

Re transfer sec. 35, block 2, Omoiin, from A. Dons to J.-1.1. NorriH, it was resolved to inform the parties Unit the transfer cannot be agreed to. L. Harnett's application to effect improvements on see. 2, Mock 0, Alia, nn ins father's section, was not granted. Consideration of A. 11. Hyde's application for a lease of part of Matirc reserve, and 0. Old's for a temporary lease of see. 1, block 2, Heao, was held over till next meeting. Plans of deviations of the Opan, Mangatoro, Tongaporntu, Mangaroa, and Kiwi roads were laid on table, together with Gazette notice, taking and closing roads affected.—Resolved that the titles lie amended accordingly. A petition of settlers and others in the Olmra district that the timber reservation on Harvey road be opened for settlement, was read.—Deferred for a report from ranger, The ranger reported on sec. 12, block 13, Olmra, surrendered by 11. George, in exchange for a more suitable holding. —Xo action taken; land to be olfered for lease.

'I he ranger reported having resumed possession of the following forfeited sections:—Sec. 13, block 11, Cape; Sec. 4, block 3, Upper Waitara; Sec. 8, block 11, T'oloro; Sec. 4, block 0, Aria; Sec. 4, block 13, Mimi.—Resolved that (irst and second sections be re-ofl'ered for selection, weighted with improvements; and remainder to be re-offered under Bu<di and Swamp Act. ■I. A. Corkerton wrote, expressing dissatisfaction with the reduction of the capital value of sec. 2, block !>, Hawera, by the area of a plantation.—Resolved that, in accordance with his request, and at considerable trouble, the Board has obtained the relief asked for, and it is for him to say whether he will accept it or continue to pay rent on the area of the plantation according to his original lease. 'J'. G. Benson appealed against the forfeiture of sec. 11, block 10, Olmra Resolved the Board cannot see its way to rescind the forfeiture. Consideration of T.
