INQUEST.

Our Normanby correspondent writes that an inquest was held at the Coiunieicial Hotel, Normanby, on Tuesday, sth March, before Air C. E. Major, Coroner, on the body of Win. Butterworth, laborer, who committed buie'de oil Monday morning at Matapu. Several Witnesses gave evidence as to the actions of the deceased, who had been working for a few days digging potatoes for Mr D. McCarten, and otherwise he was a stranger in. the district, it was stated that the 'only relative so far as is known was a brother in Southern Taranaki. The jury returned a verdict that deceased died from a gunshot wound through the heart, self-inflicted while temporary insane.
