Yesterday afternoon the wort of boring at No 2 bore was restarted, all tlie trouble in regard to the casings having been successfully surmounted. If all go well, tlie bore should bo down on t'ne oil measures in tlie course of a few weeks. Work is being pushed vigorously ahead at INo. 3 hore, which lias been cleared for about 1200 ft, The bore is about 2000 feet down. Eight inch casing is being placed around the Giin, piping put down by Mr Samuel, iiud it is expected that this will effectively shut the water off. If the effort is successful the ilow of oil from this well should be as good as that from the Birthday. At No. 4 boro the drillers are at work. About 10Oft lias been put down, but a bed of boulders has been struck and is hindering operations slightly.
