PATROLLED BY LIGHTLY ARMED MMMJHANTMEN. PARSIMONIOUS ADMIRALTY. SCHEMA.
London, Fcliruary 21
The Globe complains that the only sequel to Mr Winston Churchill's speech at Leeds, cabled on the 6th, is that the Admiralty, is persiinon'ously sending lightly armed merchantmen, manned by reservists, to patrol Outlying stations of the Emp're. (In the speech referred to, Mr Churchill drew the lesson from the recent oceurances in Jamaica, and firkin the needs of other parts of the Em-, pire, that there was urgent necessity,, to establish a squadron of warships oil some sort or other to patrol Britain's outlying possessions.)
