ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
Per Press Association. Weswokt, December 26. John Hindiey Woodford, aged 19, was drowned at Granity yesterday on the sea beach while passing from one rock to another gathering mussels. Nelson, December 26. Mr McNeil, acting-coroner, and Constable Hammond were returning to Murchison from an inquest on the man Campbell, who was killed while bush felling at Owen Junction, when their horse ran away, and after galloping half-a-mile, the yehicle was over-, 'turned. Hammond escaped with : bruises, but McNeil had his shoulder dislocated and was considerably cut and bruised. Subsequently they were bringing in their damaged vehicles when the vehicle broke down and both men were thrown heavily, but i escaped serious injury.
This morning Mr French Mason, a surveyor, whose father lives in the Auckland district, was laughing and chatting in a house where ho was a guest, when he fell and expired immediately. A medical certificate was given that the causo ; was hemmorhage on the brain.
