AUCKLAND A. AND P. SHOW

Per Press Association. Auckland, November 30. The annual show held under tho auspices of the Auck.and Agrioulturai and Pastoral Association to-day proved a great success. A feature oi tho show was the great number o£ , ponies exhibited, in aH about ioq t weie entered,, including seven en- . tires, and it is safe to say that neyer * befor e has there been such a pretty , show of pet ponies before in Auck> . land. Horses were fairly repre- . seated, although owing to the snow being later this year fewer stallions . were exhibited. As befits a pastoral j and dairying district, the cxmbits oli . cattle are very numerous; in fact, ' never betore has there been so many' , shown in Auckland. Tho exhibition' or dairy produce is, •iyith one except tion the largesi tiiat has ever beeu held throughout the who.e colony. That exception was the Palmorston North winter show last year, when there was o Blight increase over the present exhibition. The quality throughout has been weli maintained,' the flavour of the first prize butter in the dairymen's class being particularly good. The same remark also, applies to the second prize exhibit iii this c.ass, the judges having {ha greatest difficulty in. separating the first and second prize winners. One noticeable feature is that there is very iittle low scoring. The following are the championship awards:—. Draught horses;. Entire, John Such, liffe's Pride of Chentole; mare, R. Nicho.l's Miss Blythe. Cattle; Shorthorn bull, Wm. Taylor's Frederick Edward; Poled Angus .bull, H. A. Swaffield's entry. Sheep: Linolrt ram, C. T.
