Auckland, November 30, Mr McNab, Minister for Lands, addressed a large meeting at Otah 'hu to-night, w hcn a vote of thanks to tie Minister and confidence in the Government was carried. An amendi ment in favour of the optional s ysi tem of tenures was negatived, FARMERS' UNION OPPOSITION. Per Press Association. Auckland, November 30. At a meeting of members of the !• aimers Union tonight, the president delivered an address adversely critcising the Land Bill. The foX! mowing motion was proposed; "After resding the published reports of the speech at Onelmnga by the Minister of Lands, this meeting- of farmers ecords its emphatio protest against the provisions of the Land Bill, which makes it impossible for future setters on Crown lands to acquire the freehold of their holdings, ft considers lease without th e option to purchase wid be unsatisfactory to the settlers, and detrimental to the best interests' or the State, as tending to discourajre settement." The motion was car, ried unanimously amidst cheers.
