SUICIDE OF SHIP'S STEWARD.

Per Press Association. Auckland, November 15.; [ Daniel Caxton, late steward on the a.s. Weka, shot himself in the steamer's cabin at Waiuku this morning. The Weka was lying alongside the wharf, and on hearing the report of the shot, Captain. Bright. went into the cabin and found Cotton dead on the floor. A breech-loading single barrel gun and cleaning rod were by his side, the former having just been discharged. 1
