A lengthy report was read from the. Board's foreman in regard to metaf required for various roads and otrjqr matters. Several of the roads rnenli'Uied were over spent. Nothing was done, but the metal was ordered, to be obtained as ''follows : Kina road, 100 yards; Parihaka road, 50 yards; Manila Paoro road, 150 yards; ■■■l Mr Fleming waited on the Board io ask that a small piece of road loading- from the Pungarehu, road to the Cape Egmont factory be closed, aijil \\i was resclvejd taat steps be taken to close the road, the Cape Egmi.iu factory agreeing to pay anv expenses incurred. ,
Mr Bowman, Opua road, asked for seven chains of ditching 'at 18/ per chain, and offered to pay /, for ,*,.— Grained. Mr Wtlcocks, Opua road, waited on ihe Hoard in regard to blinding of Opua road. A» the money is expended, nothing further-tan be done.. The foreman was empowered to hiie another lior-e and dray whenever neces-ary. It was decided to, take over Messrs Mel Jo and Voting's contract on the '-Vgiiriki road, Opourapa road: The foreman reported that work \va> povety slowly on 'this mad. Mr Harford, who was in attendance, '-alcd that he had been delayed for ■■ome lime through the non-arrival <>t pipes, lie estimated five weeks would finish the job in fine weather. A letter was received from the Treasury, staling that £31 5 was available for the Ngarika loan.
