Carpenters and painters arc losing m time on the work at St John's Church, which is now bearing considerable evidence of comfort and convenience. A neat chancel has been erected, the dimensions being Bft xXft. with a depth of sft. The walls and ceiling have been lined with dressed rimu. appropriately stained, while the outside will come under the decoraterected, the dimension being Sft x sft. e-l on one end of the Church, in which th- bell presented by Mr Good will be hung. These improvements are to b? completed this week, and opening services will be conducted next Sunday morning and evening, the Rev, Evans and Rev. Cowie officiating. The ladies of the district are working hard to ensure the success of the bazaar which is to take place on November 2:nd for the purpose of raising funds for school prizes. Mrs Clemow is pleased to report that the profit from the conversazione held last week is £5. The amount will go towards the cost of paving off the cost of Si. John's Church. Notwithstanding the lack of rain the district is looking well. Ploughs and harrows are to be w n In all directions turning up the ground for the season's crops.
