Mr Okey, or the firm of Okey and Rollo, was on a business visit to Rahittu last week. Mr J. Clark, contractor for the Kahui road, Saunders' Hill deviation. met with a painful accident last Monday. He was working some bullocks, when one of them by some means sttuck him with its horn in the face, inflicting a nasty gash. After being attended to by the doctor he was able to resume work.

Mr Rutherford, who purchased all the flax growing on the sides of the roads in the Parihaka Road District, is having the flax dug up with a view to transplanting it on his property near the mill at Pungarehu.
