A WEDDING HOAX.
KIDNAPPING FOR CINEMATOGRAPH.
A mo-t fantastic scene took place in Rome on August .itth in the Via Sislina. A wedding procession passed by, the bride and bridegroom walking arm m arm. and followed by a large crowd of friends—men in tall hats and ladies dressed in white and wearing rich jewels. Suddenly a young man rode up '» the bride on a bicycle, and rode off with her towards the Piazza dt Spagua.
The bridegroom and the witnesses of the incident -creamed for assistance, and guards and soldiers who were pas-ing ru-h--d after the fugitives. While the cyclist was pedalling as fast as possible past the Spanish Embassy, a policeman "n duly succeeded 'n catching him by the collar. An enormous crowd a-sembled, but th<-n the unforsccn happened. The bri Vand bridegroom and their friends all turned upon the policeman, declaring that he had no right to interfere The policeman, however, insisted upon taking ihe cyclist to the neart-t police station. Mere it was finally explained that the procession and abduction were at ted for a cinematograph, and the only party who did not belong tu the company of actors was the policeman.
