OMATA STOCK SALE.

There was a very large attendance of buyers at Messrs Webster Bros.' initial stock sa'e at their new yards at Omnia on Thursday. The yards are very conveniently ' situated, at the corner of the Main South road and the Hurford road, on a triangular piece ot land owned by Mr W. Putt. There is ample room for extension, and as there is a road on each side the place is very convenient for yarding stock. Besides tlue, there is a splendid strip of grass for " showing the paces" of horses entered for sale. A capital luncheon was provided in a marquee close by, and the health of the new firm toasted. Mr Pat Webster took his place at the first pen as the time of starting came round, and, after asking those present to excuse any shortcomings in his wielding of the hammer, set out to prove how yery few of the said shortcomings he possessed as an auctioneer. Messrs Webster Bros'.' are to be com- 1 mended |for their enterprise, and have numerous well-wishers.
