(From Our Own Correspondent.) The natives are anxiously expecting the arrival of Mr J. \V. Fisher with their half-yearly rents. He was in Opunake paying the natives about ten days ago, and in Okato last week. The natives expected that he would have come on here from Okato, but were disappointed. It is rumoured that he is to be here on Wednesday.

The weather here for the past fendays has been perfect, and an earlyspring is expected. The grass is coming on fairly well, and cows are beginning, to come in, so that with the present good prices ruling for butter and cheese, farmers arc looking forward to a prosperous season. Mr Dave Harrop, who has been in Rahotu some years as a blacksmith for Mr J. Cclmer, is leaving here shortly. It is his intention to travel to San Francisco and remain in America for a few years.

The building that is being erected on the Kahui road for Mr Baker is to be utilised as a boardinghouse. Mr Baker was for some time licensee of the Okato Hotel, and should understand the requirements of the tiaveliing public.

The Crown Dairy Company's factory, which has been running every other day during the winter, commences running daily this week. Other creameries that have been shut down for the past couple of months are also resuming operations. The annual meeting of shareholders of the Oaonui Dairv Company was held in the Oaonui school last Saturday. Mr O'Rorke presided, and there was a large attendance. The report was very satisfaciory, and showed that 9,728,1461b of milk had been received and 412,6581b of butter manufactured during the season, bing lib of butter to 23.571b of mi.k. Suppliers had been paid 8d forbutterfat in June and July, 1905, and o.d during the remaining >o months. There was a surplus of £1637 to be expended. It was decided to pav suppliers a final payment equal to 8 per cent. The election of directors resulted in Mr Nuttall being elected (unopposed) for Kahui road creamery, Mr Mac Fie Arawhata road creamery. Mr James Young vacancy at main factory. Mr O'Rorke was re-e'ected chairman.
