NGAIRE.

(Frm Our Own Correspondent.) The members of the Ngaire branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union keenly alive t. their own interests, recently circularised the makers of artificial manures throughout the colony with a vic.v to obtaining concessions in prices. As a result they have arrang. d to purchase through the Union, and on Saturday evening upwards of 10 tons were ordered. Co-operation of such a mutual character must result in substantial benefit. The Ngaire Cheese Factory has reopened. Prospects for a good season were never better. Mr Pridaux, of Midhirst, has taken charge of the Cheal road creamery. During the past few days a petition has been circulated in Ngaire in opposition to the attempts made by the north riding of Oxford County Council to establish a new county. A correspondent of a contemporary of yours, referring to the squabble over the question of the Opunake railway jocularly referred to Ngaire. Ngaire has already been robbed of its junction by our inland city, and it is quite possible that Ngaire folks may be compensated for losses sustained by having the junction where one was originally intended.
