A NATIVE ENQUIRY.
COMMISSION SITTING AT HAWERA,
Hawera, August 25. Judge Seth-Smith, who has been appointed a Royal Corrimission, is holding- an inquiry into certain allegations by Kuini Wi Rangipupu and Heni Te Rau against the Public Trustee.
. One complaint is that a greater amount of commission was charged for collecting rents than was allowed, and another that complainants had no security of title ds aginst the Public Trustee.
A second Commission empowers Judge Seth-Smith to investigate the allegations that a certain person, charge natives usurious rates of interest on money advances made, by which they were impoverished. The inquiry is proceeding.
