INQUEST. Per Press Association. " Auckland, August 19. At the inquest on tie body of Samuel James Bullivunt, who was found dead under circumstances which indicted that he had hanged himself, evidence was given by Edward James N. Bullivunt, grandson of deceased, in which he said that he saw his grandfather at 6 p.m. on the previous ovening, when ho seemed all right. Witness rose in the morning, and on going, to get hi 9 horse, found the deceased' hanging by his neck from a beam, in a bail of the cow shed. James Bullivant, son of deceased, said that his father had been living with him for the last 18 months. With regard to a note left by deceased, in which he stated that tho vegetables given him for food were out of pigs' stuff, witness could only imagino that he was under a hallucination at the time he wrote what he did. His meals wore served in his own room at his particular wish, and consisted of the same food as was on witnoss' own table. Several other witnesses deposed to having conversations at various times with deceased, who had always seemed perfectly satisfied, and had never made complaint. Dr. Bull, who inspected the body, said that the appearances were such as would be presented in a ease of self-strangulation. The cause of death was suffocation, the rosult of hanging, The jury returned a verdict to the effect that deceased had committed suicide while of unsold mind, the opinion being expressed that deceased's statement that he had been fed on pigs food, was not borne out by the evidence.
