NAUTICAL ENQUIRY.

(Per Association.) AUCKLAND, August 17. The nautical inquiry held into the wreck of the auxiliary schooner Aotea and the scows Sir Henry and Haereniai, the latter not having been heard of since the beginning of May, evidence showed that all three vessels were seaworthy, sound, and well equipped. It was also shown that the regulation of the Harbour Board requiring all manifestos to' be delivered before vessels left their moorings was not enforced, so that in one case the nature of the, cargo could not be ascertained, as the master, who was drawled, was his own agent. Shipowners declared it was useless to submit plans of vessels' to the Government, as they would not understand them.
