NEW FLAX-DRESSING PROCESS.
PES PBB3S ASSOCIATION. Hamilton, July 25, Mr T. J. Mitchell, a well known flaxmiller at Hamilton, has discovered a new process of treating New Zealand hemp, The green flax is boiled in a tank containing chemicals, which reduces eyerything but tko fibre to a soft pulp. This pulp is then scraped off and the fibre dried. Among the advantages 9i tko new process, Mr Mitchell montions that the fibre is not bruised. There will also be a considerable saving in fibre scutchings, and paddocking will not bo required. The process is quite different from previously attempted chemical processes, and tke necessary liquid can be produced at a cost consistent with commercial success,
