[" By Moicboa."] Cuiragno may have to be reckoned with in the settlement of the Grand National Hurdles, as the gelding has proved himself to be an efficient jumper by winning the. two-mile race at Giiborne in very fast time, and he also scored easily in his engagement at Wellington against some good performers,
Wirral, winner of the Trial Plate, is a b.y colt by Birkenhead—Nixie, owned by the Hon. i. D. Ormond, and is. engaged in the New Zealand Cup. I Exmoor, who was ma.de favorite for the Final Hurdle Race, finished fifth. Waiwera showed a bit of his oldtime form by finishing just behind the placed horses. Solution was shipped at Sydney by the Talune on Saturday. J. W. Lowe, who went in charge of the mare, was at one time in tho service of Mr P. Crick, the well-known Sydney owner. It is expected that Irish and Cuiragno will journey to Chrisi,church. during this week. The appeal of the Stratford Racing Club agairstthc decision of the Metropplitan Committee will be heard at Christohurch in August.
