King, one of the entombed miners., stated, on being interviewed, that when the men attempted to Rain the shaft they were driven bait by tho heat. Kane was tho first to collapse, and then Churchill and Bruce. King struggled on, and met one of the rescue party, and told him that the others were just behind, and all were got out.
A roscuo party came from Bannockburn just in time, as the others were pretty well exhausted The Minister for Mines wired on Saturday authorising expenditure for securing help to save life. Assistance was offered from all parts of the district iu rescue work, and Chinese vied with Europeans in pick and shovel I work.
