MIDHIRST NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
Mr W. Hambhtt has purchased a 100-acre farm from Mr L. Basking at £l3 per acre situated on the Beaconsfield road. Mr Hamblin has had an offer of £IOO on his bargain and refused.
Mr Case, Forko road, has sold Ins farm and intends moving to a warmer and drier climate. Mr Case has been here 27 years and the Taranaki weather has '• washed him whiter than the snow."
The masonic ball which was held on Friday night passed off very well considering the terrible weather. There was a splendid supper and all seemed to enjoy themselves immensely. Mr A. Keightley, who has been foreman for many years at the grocery business of Mr J. Parkinson, has resigned, and is on tho look-out for suitable premises to open up in a large way as a grocer and draper. We feel sure that he will do well as he is well liked all through tho district.
