The gale to-day was responsible fof a second death, Mrs Moss, wife of a nurseryman at Lawrence, being killed, While she was getting some firing, one of the pine trees sheltering the nursery snapped off; and falling on \up killed her instantaneously. George Cook, agod 19, has been killed at Blackburn Camp, Hillend near Balclutha, by his hut falling on him.
| Wellington, July 6. Tho death is announced of Mrs Harm, relict of tho late Mr Chantrey Karris, a former proprietor of the " New Zealand Times," aetat 66. Isvbbcaboill, July 5. Edward Finn, a farmer of Eden, dale, when stepping off a moving train at Wairio fell and the carnage cut off his leg below the knee. He died in Riverton Hospital.
