AN IMPORTANT RULING.
PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION. Donlmn, July 5. I Mr U, Y. Widdowson, S.M., gave reserved decision to-day in a caso in which the Commissioner of Taxes sued the Presbyterian Church Property Board for taxes due on a reserve held oy the Board. For the defence it was contended that the proceeds from the land wore devoted to the Theological College which is not carried on for pecuniary profit. His Worship decided that neither the Board nor tho College is a public educational or a public charitable institution and the land is therefore not exempt from taxation. Notice of appeal was given.
