A MUNICIPAL APPOINTMENT.
PBB PBESS ASSOCIATION. Invbhcabgill, J«ly 5. The iiivercargill Borough Council to-night, on the advice of their solicitor, proceeded to appoint a Town Clerk in accordance with the Municipal Corpartitions Act, their previous method of balloting not being in accord incj with law. On this occasion all the applicants were not ballotted. A motion that Mr L\ W- Walker, the former selection, be ippointcd, was carried, as against an amendment that another be selected, which found, three supporters out of eleven.
