JBB rises ASSOCIATION. ImmCABSiLi., June 19. The Southland A. & P. Winter Sliow opened on the finest day experienced here for a considerable time. Contrary to expectations, the exhibits were Hot only more numerous than last year, but the quality oi the loots was very good. -The chief prize taken was A. ©arruthers (Balelutha) for turnips, and championship for potatoes with " SutIfoii'g M. Simpson also for turnips, man•golds, carrots, etc., also for oats. There Was heavy competition an the cheese section, due to tho gift of a cup valued, at 60 guinea*, which was won fay the J Bdendale factory.
