There was a large attendance of members at the meetiug of lite above leaguo held in St. Joseph's schoolroom ou Wednesday evening, j Aftor the transaction of formal business, the following resolulim vis carried: " That this meeting of the N..-r 1>; mouth branch of tho United lr, Leaguo desires to placo on record i. deep regret at tho loss tho Irish cause has sustained owing to tho death of the late Mr Michael Davitt" and a copy of the above resolution bo sent to Mrs Davitt through tho leader of the Irish party iu tho House of Commons (Mr J. E. Redmond). The Branch further passed a resolution in terms of sympathy with Mrs Davitt, a communication to be sent to
