RECREATION GROUNDS BOARD
A meeting o£ the Board was held at the olllco of the secretary on Wednesday night. Presont: Mr F. P. Corkill (chairman), Messrs C. W. Govett, S. Percy Smith, W. L. Newman, R. C. Hughes, W. A. Collis, I). Hutchen and E. Dockrill. The Chairman read his annual report which will be published in a fow days. The vacant piece of ground on the Brooklands road will be ottered for lease,
Owing to the Board having agreed to hand over to a properly constituted sports committee that portion of the ground known as the sports ground for I lie purposo of making improvements, and to [consequent loss of revenue, a circular will be issued inviting subscribers at ten shillings per annum. In consequence of complaints mado to the Board the bye-laws relating to cycling and dogs will be enforced, and the staff instructed to tako tho names of offenders.
The custodian and his assistant were authorised to shoot any dogs found molesting the birds. Board decide! to continue tho formation of a footpath on the southwestern side of the lake, towards Brooklands.
Tho Secretary notified the Board that the lea rooms were now closed, but that the ladies' room was still available for tho use of lady visitors. The pounds were placed in the lian.ls of Mr S. Percy Smith for the ensuing period.
