AMATEUR BOXING TOURNAMENT.
TO-NIGHT. A large audience, representative of ■ the whole of Taranaki, is expected to 'witness the amateur boxing tournaimont in the New Plymouth Theatre .Royal. Some fine displays are promised, both in the light and heavyweight sections, the contestants hailing from all parts. Professor Twohey, a well-known pugilist, and Marks, the Taranaki amateur. champion and runner-up in the New Zealand amateur championship, will give an exhibition spar that will be well worth watching. A couple of first-class Australian performers will compete, one of them being a well-known amateur heavyweight of Victoria. Professor Stagpoole, Ryan, and otlier noted local men are entered.
