In spite of the fact that the Westport collieries are working double time, steamers have to wait their turn for two or three days before cargoes can be provided. The Westport Harbor Board have received advice that several largo shipping companies in London are now prepared to enter into the foreign trade, and urging them to provide early the facilities for handling large tonnage. The Board has received authority to extend the eastern breakwater as recommended bytho Board's engineer, 1 with a view to increasing tho depth of water on the bar. j
