"FAKED" BUTTER SAMPLES.

PBB MESS ASSOCIATION. Paimebston Nobth, May 22. Two boxes of " faked " butter, procured in London on account of the Manawatu A. and P. Association by Mr J. T. Lang, have been shipped by (hi Waiwera, consigned to the cold store, Wellington, where they will remain till the time of the coming winter show. One box contains twelve pounds of butter in two-pound rolls, and was being retailed in London at Is 2d per pound. This sample contains water to the extent of 15.42 per oent. Tbe other box also contains twelve pounds in two pound rolls, and was being retailed in Loudon at Is per pound. It contains water to the extent of 29,38 per cent.
