Mr McDonald seconded, and the motion was unanimously carried, Mr J. C. George, as trustee- for the estate of Mr J. "A. Maisey, wrote with reference to some rents paid to the Board and accepted by the Secretary as payment of the Board's claim against the estate, in tho face of an understanding that the Board would wait with other creditors until the estate could liquidate all liabilities.
Tho Board decided that as the Secretary had made all arrangements with Mr Maisey personally, and had apprised his agents and his solicitor, that his action had been straightforward and most busmcss-liko in securing payment of the Board's dues. The Chairman reported that Miss
Honeyfield had been appointed as nurse at the Hospital under arrangement with tie Government, who would pay £25 salary, pay £25 to the Board for her maintenance, and £3 for uniform annually. Nurse White had resigned her position, and the stuff had been re-organised in order to obviate the necessity for engaging another nurse at a high salary. He made some very complimentary remarks about the conduct, and ability of the Board's nursing staff, and particularly mentioned the excellent manner in which Miss O'Brien had managed the Hospital durin * the matron's absence recently on a holiday. He.moved, " That this Board conyey to Miss O'Brien their appreciation of the manner m which she has discharged her da ies as head nurse, and have pleasure in asking her to accept an additional £l2 per annum to her salary." making it £67 per annum.
