IMPEOPER FEEDING OF CHILD. REN. PER FBBSS ASSOCIATION. Draimx, May 17. At the annual meeting of the Dunedin eontre of the St. John Ambulance Association, while the work of the district uurse was being discussed, Dr Burnett said that the work of the diitrio t uurse was mainly with old and helpless, but what about infants on tlio threshold of life who wore practioally poisoned by improper feeding? He warmly eulogised Dr Truby King's ■jfforts in this direction, With whole, hearted enthusiasm Dr King waa at present, out of his own pocket, paying i nurse to go round among the people of the district, especially the poor, to 'how the proper method of feeding infants. He was not only paying i nurso, but was providing requisites necessary, That was generoni on Dr. King's part, but it should not be allowed to continue, and Dr Barnett advocated that the Association should take over the nurse. He thought the Premier would support luch a scheme by subsidy, Dr Will said a schema suoh as wu suggested had been drawn up as a result of correspondence with the Prettier and Dr King. What was pro. posed was to appoint three nines, and he had uked for a subsidy of 24* in the £on money subscribed. He hoped to have an answer from Mr Seddon on his return from Australia.
