A PROTRACTED VOYAGE.
CEEW STRICKEN WITH TYPHOID. Eeeeived 8, 12.25 p.m. Sydney, May 7. The barque Talca, one hundred and fouTjdays out from Iqueque (Chili), has arrived. Several of the crew were stricken with typhoid shortly after leaving, and two died. Owing to the boisterous weather, and being shorthanded, the voyage was protracted, and provisions ran low, though they were sot exhausted.
The Captain of the Talca said bis ngnals were misread at Tahiti. He only reported typhoid, not small-pox. After leaving there the weather continued dirty. The crew gradually recovered, and were now welL On arriving at the Heads he was orfered to proceed to Geelong, but the Captiin decided to put in to replace the dead men and replenish his provisions. The Talca has been quarantined pending Ker departure for Geelong.
