REACTIONARIES IN POWER. i Received 7, 11.46 p.mSx. Pbtbbsbtjbg, May 7. M, JGoremykine is gazetted as Premier. Tho Rescript on Saturday, thanking Count Witte, acknowledged his energy, and decision in thwarting revolutionaries.
A previous cablegram said Count Witte had resigned owing to the Tsar 5 dissatisfaction with the character of the Duma, the Premier having predicted that only ignorant monjiks would be elected. M. Goremjkipe. who has been chosen .Premier, is a violent reactionary, and a ;protege of General Trepoif, and of lobiedonostaS.
