DRUIDISM.
The tenth anniversary of the establishment of th* Order of Druids in New Plymouth was celebrated Thursday evening, and, the inclement weather notwithstanding, there was a large attendance of members and lady friends. During the evening Past District Grand President Jennings presented Bro. R. M, Corncy with a Past District President's collar. In making the presentation Bro. Jennings extolled the benefits of Druidism, which were being copied by other societies. He opined that the annuity scheme outlined by Premier in recent speeches, would be based on the manner of working in Friendly Sooieties. Bro. Corney acknowledged the gift with thanks, disclaiming any credit for his work, which was done purely for the advancement of the Druidism Order. He asked for the co-operation of all the brothers to still further enhance the successful operations of the Order.
Songs were contributed by Misses Blyth and Cecil, and Dr. MeCleland, Mr J, Davidson playing the accompaniments.
Tke proceedings of good fellowship, unity, and harmony terminated at midnight.
