A sad drowning accident-occurrati lure- this afternoon by which a lad named Matthew O'Brien, about six ■and a half years of age, son of Con,stable O'Brien, lost;his life. The little fellow had gone to the Tutaekuri nVer at the back of the Recreation Grounds to sail a model yacht, and (lipped into the water. A little girl who had accompanied him went to the lad's home and told the deceased boy's eldest brother, who at once went to.the scone of the accident, but though he dived immediately and searched the spot it was not for some little time afterwards that he recovered the body away ftbm where the boy bad fallen in.
