BOWLING TOURNAMENT.

NEW PLYMOUTH VICTOB[OUS. - * The bowling tournament at Ha we ra, during the Easter holidays, was in i every way a success. The weather was beautifully fine, and the Hawera '•; Club's green in capital order. Players { report that all the arrangements were I— carefully thought out,, -and not the : slightest bitch occurred. The clubs I competing were Hawera, New Ply•j mouth, Fitzroy, Eltham, Manaia, v Opunake Pibama (combined). By Monday morning the only teams left in ; were New Plymouth, Filzny and } Hawera, the latter so far having es- > '. eapid a single defeat. Fitzroy ,1 drew a bye, and New Plymouth defeated Hawera somewhat easily. The shield is of black ebony, with a raised silver centre, depicting a player in the act of leading, "and bearing "eight smaller shields for ¥ the inscription of names of the winfur mng clubs.
