. »_—_ 1 There was a. small attendance al. the annual meeting of the New Plymouth 1 Hockey Club on Friday night. ' The report stated that tin- dub had ' had a most successful season, both linnneially and on the field. Two teams were plaeed in the Held to - compete for the championship, under the Taranaki Hockey Association. ■ The A team proved the champion team in the North Division. Of the nine "matches played, six: were wou, aud three drawn. Goals for, 23, against. 7. It was expected that two teams would again be placed in the field.
The balance-sheet showed total receipts £U 10s SKI; being for members' subscriptions £5 15s, donatio:.* £3 2s (id. Last year started with a credit of lils 3d aud after the year's working there is now a credit balance of 19s 7tl. Votes of thanks was accorded to Mr Cathro for his donation of caps, to tho Tarauaki Jockey Club for the use of the ground, and to Ihc retiring officers. Officers were elected: President, Mr S. Smith; vice-presidents, Messrs 0. W. Govett and T. Avery; captain, V. H. Bcal (re-elected); vice-captain, W. A. Cathro; secretary, Mr J. E. Avery; general committee, Messrs Cutficld, Fisher, and M. Avery; selection committee, Mr Cutfiold aud the captain and vieo-captam; dolcgate to Association, Mr E. Avery. The secretary was instructed to inform the Kecreation Sports Ground Committee, that the Club docs not desire to bo represented ou that committee. A match will be arranged, if possible, against a Wangamii team on Easter Saturday. . The season will be opened on Auril 12th. Mr F. P. Corkill was elected a life moinbeiy in recognition of past services. The annual subscription was again fixed at ss.
